Slnb results

When I had my follow-up appointment with the plastic surgeon after my WLE and SLNB it was for both a check-up of my wounds and also to get my results.

Hi Lills,  I would think so also. When I had my WLE and slnb a week ago last Friday, on my hospital discharge paperwork they outlined 3 planned appointments. One at day 7 to check the skin graft, one on day 14 to check the rest of the wounds and then one at 6 weeks which actually is specifically titled histology results. Good luck and fingers crossed your results are positive!

Thankyou fingers crossed all clear, would you know how long after do they start the 3 monthly checks? I’ve been under 2 different trusts and had conflicting info about a few things and I forgot to ask x

Now that’s a good question and one I’m pondering currently too. Originally I assumed it would be 3 months from the first skin check (I had one on diagnosis day) but now I’m not so sure if it’s from the WLE date as I’ve not had any appointments for that come through. Many others say try asking your SCNS (skin cancer nurse specialist) questions like this. Do you have one assigned? I don’t have one assigned to me to ask at this point, which seems unusual and I’ve been told to reach out to my consultants secretary to find out if I have one or not. I keep forgetting to ask about that or when I do, no one seems to know.

I had my first quarterly check-up three months after I had the results from my WLE and SLNB.

Got my results yesterday as the pathology department was behind, had 4 lymph nodes removed. Lymph and WLE all clear of cancer. I’m going to stay in here as I found it so helpful, everyone is so kind x

That’s wonderful news, congratulations and happy for you that you are all clear. I just got my appointment for results on 10th Nov, I’m really hoping they are as positive as yours have been. Hearing your news has given me some hope so thank you for sharing the update :-)
