So it’s one step forward and two steps back for me at the minute. I had a melanoma removed in June originally stage 2a, however a satalite was found and I was upgraded to stage 3B. Last Friday I was told by the dermatologist that my scans were clear, and the melanoma and satellite had been removed with clear margins he said the MDT were meeting again to discuss if immunotherapy was necessary. Today I got a phone call to say the MDT had met this morning and have decided I need more surgery which will probably mean a skin graph. I will then be passed to oncology to discuss adjuvant treatment. So here I was telling family and friends I was in the clear, and slowly letting myself relax a little for the first time in months. Sorry for the rant, just feeling a bit down in the dumps this afternoon. It’s such a roller coaster of emotions.
Hi Pricilla
I can completely understand how you must be feeling at the moment and I hope you're feeling a little better now. It sounds like your team are just being extra cautious rather than that anything has changed diagnostically, if that make sense.
Sending ((hugs))
