Hi There,
Last Monday was supposed to have been my last review and check-up appointment with dermatology after my diagnosis with stage 1 melanoma over a year ago. However during the examination, the doctor noticed another mole on my right cheek and asked me a few questions about it, wasn't too sure about and got the consultant dermatologist to come and have look at it, which he did, and suggested that it to be excised and tested. I got a fast track appointment for the surgical procedure for this Wednesday, which is good news, but also its leaving me a little anxious and worried especially with my history with melanoma skin cancer. Has anyone else been through a similar situation?
Hi WALKER777
I had a similar experience to you in that 5 years after I was originally diagnosed, and officially coming to the end of my check-ups, my consultant decided that she wanted a mole removing. Fortunately it came back as just an atypical mole and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that yours does too.
