Dizziness and pain in neck/spine

Hi, I have recently had a stage 1 melanoma wide excision and am waiting on results. I have been on a 5 day course of antibiotics as the wound was infected at the stitches site.
yesterday I suddenly started feeling dizzy and my neck and head was hurting. I had pain in the top of my spine and back of my neck which hasn’t eased. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Not sure if I have an unconnected virus, side effect from antibiotic or if the cancer has spread. My mind is spiralling.

  • Hi

Feeling dizzy with your head and neck hurting sounds very unpleasant on top of having to have antibiotics for a wound infection. How did your appointment with your GP go today?

This is something I experienced after having a WLE (wide local excision) but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'.
