Hi everyone. I have received news via a phone call from my dermatologist that a recent surgery to remove melanoma in situ 3 weeks ago has not taken all margins away and I need further treatment using a chemotherapy cream. The surgery was very close to my eye and the dermatologist said further surgery would be radical so the cream would be a good option. I have been in a state of anxiety since July when I had the first biopsy and can only find negative pics etc on Google ( I know I should not be doing Google ). Has anyone had any experience of using the cream please. Thank you xx
Hi Luky
That must have been very disappointing to discover that they haven't obtained clear margins after removing a melanoma in-situ.
I haven't used any form of chemotherapy cream but assume that what you're being prescribed is fluorouracil, also known under it's brand name of Efudix. If this is the case, then these are previous posts in the group where it's been mentioned. As you can see, the posts are quite old but you could still try replying to them if you want to ask any more questions.
If this isn't the name of your cream then just let me know what it is and I'll do another search for you.
