i was diagnosed with stage 1b melanoma in May, I had a WLE 4 weeks ago on 25th June on lower calf. I have noticed a bit of skin about 3 cms from my scar which is a bit scaly, and irregular in shape but has no colour in it. Does anyone know if this is anything to worry about.
Hi Bevs
It's always best to get in touch with your skin cancer nurse specialist (SCNS) if you are worried about anything. She can then get you in front of your consultant within a few days if she feels it needs checking. I've had to do this on a couple of occasions.
Let us know how you get on.
Hi Sean/Grandad65
I just wanted to say that if you find something you're worried about phone your skin cancer nurse specialist not your GP.
My consultant always reminds me at my check-ups to get straight in touch with them and not to go to my GP otherwise you just go to the back of the queue.
When you were diagnosed you should have been given the contact details of your SCNS. If you weren't you can call your consultant's secretary and she will be able to provide them for you.
Hi latchbrook
I don't have skin cancer was just offering advice to Bev's but hope she takes your advice as mine was wrong, apologies for that. It makes total sense what you said.
As long as she does it soon hopefully it will all be ok
Best wishes
Dean
That's okay. I shouldn't have assumed but had seen you'd joined the group so thought you had melanoma.
Best wishes
