Hi folks,
been a little while since I was in here, but does anyone have any experience with taking out life, critical illness insurance after a melanoma diagnosis? I had stage 1b removed last July and slnb/WLE last October which were both clear. I currently have cover through an employer but I really want to get my own policies in place as soon as I can, as I’ve been screwed over by a previous employer around critical illness insurance during this illness. If you have had experience of getting insurance after a diagnosis, how long did you have to wait after treatment ended before insurers would cover you and was the costing reasonable?
The internet seems to be full of wish washy generic non committal guidance on this that does not help as it’s always ‘it depends”
thanks
Hello Idg559
I wonder whether it might be helpful to give the support line a quick call and ask to speak to an advisor about insurance. The number is at the bottom of this and it may be the quickest way to get advice.
Alternatively we have an ask the expert section on here and they would normally respond within a couple of days.
