Let’s just say I’m lucky to be here! After recovering from a ground dissection & full heel removal I developed a very nasty infection. I was attending my appointments for results of operation and that’s all I remember until I woke up in a hospital bed hooked up to drips. Due to being in hospital they brought forward my CT scan. The results were not what I was expecting… the melanoma had traveled to my lymph nodes in my pelvis and stomach…I am a positive person but this knocked me right out and thought I can’t do this!
I was released from hospital last Monday but with the support of my family, drs I’m ready to fight this. I can’t fault the NHS and have been so cared for. I meet my oncologist in person tomorrow and I have spoken to him everyday on the phone since last week!
I know I’m not alone and there are so many of us out there. I do hope you’re all having a mixture of good days and bad days.
