Hi. I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma and had a wle and slnb at the beginning of feb and fortunately it hadn’t spread anywhere. 3 months on and I still have a hard egg sized lump in groin where lymph nodes are were removed and I’ve started to get lots of swelling to my foot and ankle. Is this lymphodema? Something else? Anyone experienced this 3 months post surgery? Xx
Hi Lisa
That's great to hear that your WLE and SLNB came back clear.
I noticed that you said in your post in March that you were having a scan to investigate the lump in your groin. What was the result from that? If you've still got that lump it might be an idea to speak to your SCNS.
Lymphoedema can happen months or even years after treatment so have a chat with your SCNS about the swelling you've developed and they will be able to arrange for you to see someone to investigate if it is lymphoedema or not.
When you have a minute it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
