Hi everyone had my op back in may, i had wide local excision on my right cheek, scar as healed amazing. However during my scan before op they discovered a nodule on my left lung Cry had to have a special scan to rule out it wasnt cancer, thank god it was just a nodule not cancer related altho they will scan me every year to make sure it doesnt change. They also discovered a lumpScream in my gland on my neck, my surgeon was sure its just a salivary gland stone and again he as just kept an eye on it up until now that is Scream he as now requested another biopsy to just remove it and send it away to be tested!! He as reassured me that they arent worried its anything other than a stone, i just have that feeling of dread again. Im just fed up and was never prepared for these blips. I was just trying to put it all behind me and then boom summat just pops up. Maybe ive dealt with the recovery all wrong and maybe i should of prepared myself for blips popping up in the next 5 years.

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read that you're having to go through that awful time of waiting for to have a biopsy and then waiting for results. Unfortunately, the nature of melanoma means that we're probably never completely free of the worry.

Since my original diagnosis 5 years ago I've had several lesions removed although thankfully all of them have been benign and I'm hoping this latest investigation for you will also turn out to be benign.

Do you have a date for your biopsy yet?

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
