Seroma

Hi , another possibility is that that both drs were right at the time they made their decision. I haven’t had a seroma, but I’m hearing the word small, I’m not a medic but have read that they can go away on their own. I wondered if the ask an expert section ask a nurse could help you, (link is below) or the Macmillan support line 0808 808 0000.

Yes I have browsed again and it seems they could go on their own in time.  Happy with that. Least intervention I think is better.

Feeling more like going for a short walk outdoors today,maybe!!

It's only not quite 4 weeks since op so I think I am doing ok.  I do everything around the house so that's keeping me mobile and folks say I am looking very well. Goodness what I looked like before then!!  Lol

Hi - I had SLNB/WLE at the beginning of October and have had a big seroma (like an apple) at the SLNB site near groin. It started to go a bit red so I was given antibiotics but it has never been drained. It tends to go down and then grow big again (like an alien coming out my leg!). At the moment it feels like it has nearly gone - fingers crossed. I am also having weird sensations up my whole leg which is weird. But unless things hurt / go red / leak, I'm leaving it and hoping it all goes away. I hope yours settles down soon too.

Many thanks for sharing your experience, it seems each Doc and hosp has different  ideas.

I had mine drained again this morning and it was a lot less than last time so fingers crossed it is getting better, like yours  I am hoping it goes away on its own now.  Our bodies are complicated in how it works but somehow these things sort themselves. I find chocolate is helping!!!  I too  like you had weird  sensations in the leg,  I likened it to stinging nettle sting!  ! it was suggested that it was the nerve endings sorting themselves out after op and I must say 4 weeks on it is easing off, no painkillers for 4 days!

I do hope yours goes soon and we can get back to normal walking etc, In time to get out into the town for the Christmas rush!
