Just been told the mole i had removed was a melonma 1b. Bit shocked is an understatement as it wasn't what I was expecting. I'm 45 married with a 18 year old daughter.

I am waiting for a sentinel lymph node removal appointment. Trying not too think too worry too much about it right now as I am a worrier and bottle things up.

Any advice

  • That's great to hear that your wounds are healing really well !

I'm not sure from the time of your post whether you're getting your results today or tomorrow but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Well I just got my results from wle and slnb. I'm all clear, I feel so bad for the people on here that have to go on for further treatment, I've been to some really dark times since October, but hopefully this will bring hope and reassurance to anyone that despite biopsies and wide excisions and sentinel biopsies.... There is light at the end of it. Thank you to all on here, everyone has something helpful to ask or reply, and this is the only place I came for answers. Each case is different. The waiting for results is an absolute headache but stick it out and see what happens. Good luck to everyone here, I wish you all the best of luck and hope god looks after you all and that the journey isn't unbearable. I'm signing off. Xx

  • That's great news and I hope you've had a little, or big, celebration!

It's also lovely to hear how supportive the group have been for you and I hope you reconsider "signing off" and stay around for a while to support others who are just starting their journey with melanoma. However, I do understand if you'd rather step back.

    Wishing you all the best
