Had my first wound check on my WLE and SLNB sites, ten days post surgery.
SLNB has healed but have a lump half the size of a golf ball at the site, told it was an oedema and need to massage the area to break it down.
The WLE wound looks like a shark bite, healing well, still damp so re dressed and further visit to doctors for a check in a weeks time, and weekly until it dries up. Been told that I shouldn't drive until I see the consultant again, and that should have been in 5 weeks, now told cant see him until November, I will be phoning his secretary to discuss how this appointment (that I am supposed to getting my results at) has moved from 3 weeks to 5 weeks to November!!!! I am still on hold about trying to rearrange our family holiday that had to be cancelled and am desperately trying to see if we can reorganise, just need my results.
Sorry to hear that you've developed an oedema . I didn't have this but was advised to massage my scars daily when I had my wounds checked after two weeks.
I hope you manage to get your appointment brought forward or at the very least get your results given to you by your CNS if your consultant is away.

Have been told I should be ok to drive after 4 weeks post operation, currently struggling with an oedema at the lymph site the size of a golf ball
Poor you. I bet you feel miserable. I am waiting on the date of my WLE and SLNB - should be soon. I’m worried about not being able to drive for so long.
Surgeon has said it will take 4 weeks for mine to fully heal, but needs must. these aren't cosmetic procedures, hope you get a date soon.
Hi , I was wondering if yours will be a groin SLNB like or underarm like latchbrook, where was the site of your original incision? . I hope the wait for the date isn’t to bad.
Hi - thank you - mine was on the top of my thigh. It was about 14mm in width and .8mm deep. Stage 1B apparently. So mine will be groin too. I am looking forward to having it done and getting it over with!
Hi , I hope the wait isn’t to long for you. I found when I’d come to terms with having to have surgery, I just wanted it over and done with ASAP. The not driving for weeks, until you felt you could safely do an emergency stop with out hurting yourself was unwanted feature as well, not hoovering or lifting things was a definite advantage though
