Hello everyone, did you know it’s over 4 years since my metastatic melanoma diagnosis, and nearly 4 years since I started treatment for it (with a one year gap in the middle) and just over 3 years since I started playing PokémonGo.
Today I’m celebrating reaching level 40 Pokémon Trainer level, can’t help thinking that at one stage I thought that I wouldn’t reach 2017. I know it’s only a game, but it’s one that got me walking more and motivated to get out and about. I’m sure others of you have far more sensible milestones that you’ve reached and although I still going to continue Pokémon I thought you might have some ideas to share with me and others, things that you have achieved along the melanoma pathway maybe to keep anxiety at bay or to make life more purposeful or fun.
I also watched every episode of House by binge watching it on Netflix in my first few months of diagnosis ! so although I loved House Pokémon is definitely an improvement.
good luck with the Pokémon - never really understood it :) However My husband has also reached a milestone this week ...it is now 2 years since he started his treatment and he is doing well. We weren't sure if he would even make that first Christmas but he did plus the next one and we are aiming for another one this year. He has had some ups and downs over the 2 years but are still alive … as he would say! This summer, he has started feeding the birds and spends a lot of time in the garden just watching them and counting the various types. I know this will not be suitable during the winter but hopefully by then, I will have found another interest for him. So, perhaps I will get an idea or two from the rest of the comments!
Fantastic Izabella I knew I couldn’t be the only one who’s passed a mile stone. Birds are so funny sometimes lining up to fight over the food, when it was hot this summer in addition to our bird bath we put out a painting and decorating tray, the sort you put paint rollers into, so they had a shallow and a deep end to splash in, they preferred it to the bird bath!!
Take care KT
