I have melanoma stage 4 and a blood clot on my jugular vein and still waiting for treatment, I’m in so much pain at the moment
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read how much you're dealing with at the moment and that you're in a lot of pain. Is this pain from where your melanoma has spread to or from the blood clot in your vein?
Do you know when your treatment will start and what that treatment will be as there are a few people in the group who are stage 4 and they may be able to tell you how they're getting on if you can give us a little more information?
Sorry, reading this back it sounds like I'm interrogating you!

Hi Lisa, I’m sorry to hear you’re in pain and waiting for treatment. I remember 4 years and two days ago I came out of hospital after having scans and a biopsy and it seemed ages until I had my stage 4 diagnosis and then started my treatment about a month later, so I know what that wait is like.
I was wondering where yours has spread to, and if you have a keyworker who looks after you. My GP arranged for the local hospice to be a 24 hr number that I could ring for pain management at that time, and when the paracetamol that was first prescribed for me wasn’t enough the local Macmillan nurse could prescribe something stronger for me and was able to change by antinausea medication as well. Thankfully I’m through that stage now.
I was just thinking today as I arrived home from having my 36th Pembrolizumab treatment that today for me was a good day, I’m sorry it hasn’t been for you but please feel free to off load here in this group.
I’d like to offer a virtual hand hold if that’s ok and hope that things improve for you soon. Do you know what the hold up for treatment is? For me they needed me to feel a bit stronger and put me on steroids for about 2 weeks I think.
Best wishes
Take care KT
Hi
I was just wondering how you were as you said a week ago that you were in a lot of pain. I'm hoping that your doctor has managed to sort out pain relief for you.
