Hello all, this is my first post on here!

I’m due to have WLE (on my forearm) and SLNB on 26th June. Hopefully no graft or flap required, just stitchesFingers crossed! I’ve been invited out on 5th July (9 days post surgery) and wondered whether I’m being too optimistic if I accept the invite!  (It’s a coach trip to Hampton Court flower show).  Any advice on recovery time would be greatly appreciated. Obviously I understand that not everybody is the same.

Thank you. X

  • Hi and welcome to the online forum.

I had a WLE on my upper arm and a SLNB and would definitely have been okay to go on a trip 9 days later. As you said we're all different but I didn't need any painkillers after a couple of days and followed the advise to get up and about as soon as possible. I made sure I didn't use the arm I'd had the operation on for at least a week to give it time to heel and I didn't drive for the recommended 14 days, although I could have done if I'd needed to.

Hope you have a great time at the flower show and do come back and tell us how you get on with your ops.

Thank you so much for your response. Yes, I will be sensible for the first few days post op and definitely won’t drive until advised. I’m otherwise a generally healthy and active person so I’m hoping I will make a speedy recovery.

    Thank you again. X
