I just saw a video on YouTube about this girl who had a mole on her leg and it ended up being Melanoma and she died not long after as it had spread everywhere. I was in absolute shock that that can happen.
It got me thinking about the moles I have and I suddenly remembered a mark I found a few years ago hidden behind my ear. I thought it was a birth mark but looking at it now in detail it looks like it could be a suspicious mole. It's not remotely raised and it doesn't bother me but the mark has asymmetrical edges and it's different colours but I'm not entirely sure if it's actually a mole or just a mark. I will book an appointment with the GP asap but now I'm terrified it's Melanoma as I've had this mark at least a few years.
What's the chances that it's cancer?
Hi
The internet and TV have a lot to answer for as we've all done what you've done, watch a programme then think we also have the illness that was portrayed. However, it's also a good thing as it prompts us to see our GP about something we've noticed but done nothing about until then.
Do make that appointment with your GP as only s/he can diagnose what your mark might be. If they're at all suspicious you'll be referred to see a dermatologist who will examine it further and remove it if necessary.
Looking back at your previous posts I see that your mum was being tested for womb cancer 6 months ago. How is she?
Please come back and tell us how you get on.

P.S. Your photo will probably be removed shortly as posting photos asking for opinions isn't allowed.
Thanks for the reply Latchbrook
It's definitely a good video to be aware of considering how easy it is to check for moles!
My mum's tests came back negative which was incredibly good news. It's still ongoing a bit as there's a polyp that still needs to be removed but it looks like she's in the clear :)
I will let you know how I get on.
That's great news about your mum !
Yes, do come back and let us know what your GP says.

Hi
I hope you're well and I was wondering how you got on when you went to see your GP about a mark behind your ear that you're concerned about.
