After my ultrasound on the enlarged node was discovered, my nurse rang me to say I need a biopsy, and the likely outcome is to be sent the ecology probably adjuntant treatment .
can you explain what that is thanks
Hi Betful, when I had my enlarged node removed, I was considered cancer free but in order to help prevent things not return adjuvant treatment was recommended. The treatment for me was Pembrolizumab an immunotherapy given like a chemo drug by IV, it is normally for one year and fingers crossed that People remain clear for that year. Unfortunately I’ve had blips in my journey but I was not straightforward to begin with. The biopsy will also test your lymph node and if you are BRAF positive you might be offered tablets instead. Oncology will talk you through your options.
I hope that helps the Macmillan support line 0808 808 0000 will be able help explain and others may chip in below with there experiences there’s a few people on here who have started posts recently about their treatments.
Take care KT
