Hi all.

I’m 3 weeks post op since having my right external iliac node removed-well, not completely.. they got roughly 75% and will now be starting immunotherapy again.

I’ve got a good tolerance for pain but even I’m struggling.
I’m living off multiple painkillers. I usually end up overlapping them. If I don’t take them within the 4 hours, I get horrific shivers. Once I begin to warm up, I know they’re kicking in.

It feels as if I have a permanent stitch in my side. I still have a slight sting when I pee. I have almost constant sciatic type pain down my leg which is stopping me walking very far. I also get the sensation of an elastic band nipping every now and again. I’m obviously dehydrated although I’m trying to eat and drink-that also hurts and then trapped wind.
I can barely sleep unless I’m lay on my side..

My family are amazing.. I’m feeling so sorry for myself though, it’s ridiculous

  • Hi Monalymph welcome to the forum though I am sorry to hear what is happening for you. Are these symptoms something you were told to expect after your op or not?  There will be some healing taking  place, that sensation of an elastic band often happens when areas start to heal together and feels like pulling.. The bit I'm a little concerned about is that fluctuation in your temperature from feeling warm to being cold and shivery. That may be worth checking out with your team and also check that the medications are not causing that.  Just some thoughts which I hope are helpful and useful for you..please do let us know how you get on..Best wishes Gail
