Lung cancer spread to liver

I'm looking for some advice and help.
my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer last April, long story short due to a biopsy incident that left him in ICU on life support for 10 days, he was deemed no longer strong enough for aggressive treatment. Fast forward to now, the cancer has spread to his liver. They are now offering immunotherapy.
I don’t know what to expect, I don’t know what this means for my dad, I don’t know how long he has left. My dad thinks this is a chance, I’m scared, I want to know in real terms how long we have. I feel the immunotherapy is just them doing something because they were at fault for the biopsy incident.

Hi' Pauline, I can understand your anxiety. I'm not long out of surgery for a lung one. In 03 I had surgery for a bowel one So I look at it from a different point of view. Along with many others on here we didn't know what to expect but we have to just get on with it and trust in our consultants. We don't have much choice. Your dad sounds positive about his treatment so give him all the support you can, It's hard work I know. Sometimes I think it's harder for our loved ones all that trekking to and from for visits while we just stay in one place.

Hi Raymond,

honestly I’m totally supportive of dad, were talking about taking holidays once the treatment finishes ect. He’s planning his work in the garden for the summer. I will keep doing this, I like the fact he’s not looked into statistics ect.
I was hoping to hear from people who have had experience with stage 4 lung cancer that’s spread and are getting only immunotherapy.
