Hi there,

I'm going through diagnosis of a lower left lung lesion. The Consultant has said that he'd be very surprised if it was benign, so I'm ready to be told it's bad news.

It's the waiting that is getting me down at the moment, and worrying about my kids (who are in their twenties) worrying about me!

  • Hi  welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. The waiting really is very difficult, it seems endless. I have children of a similar age to yours, and I find they cope better if they have all the information available. They hate me trying to hide things from them, although it is hard.

  • How dare the consultant tell you that he had no right.  What other info do you have about your lesion

  • Hi' Sam. The news may be disappointing but stay positive. Lots of us on here have been through what you are experiencing.  I'm just out of surgery - last October -  for lower left. I'm feeling fine and no problems. This is following surgery to remove 80mm bowel in 03. I'm more or less back to normal. None of us wanted to be here but we are. When you get through it you will be able to give support to others just starting out on this miserable game. Keep us up to speed on your progress

  • Thank you Chelle. I'm trying to be positive but there are days when I struggle, seeing the boys and their partners every now and then really helps.

  • It's almost 3 centimetres and either right next to, or has invaded, my diaphragm. The consultant couldn't tell which from the enhanced CT. Hopefully the PET results will be clearer.

The consultant seems to be very direct and has no bedside manners! The nurse who was with him was lovely though.

  • It's good to hear that you are doing well, I'm really pleased for you. It helps to hear something positive! Thank you.

  • Just wait and speak w the dr.  Will say a prayer for you

  • Thank you markmac.
