Newly diagnosed

Hi , I was never breathless after my lobectomy,  but everyone is different  

Hi Dianna, thanks for the reply, that's reassuring. How long was your recovery and did you have VATS surgery

I  was meant to be in hospital for 4 days , ended up 10 days and I went home with my drain in. My recovery was about 10 weeks . Then I got phone call from surgeon that the 2 lymph nodes they took were both cancerous,  I am now under palliative care as I got 2 new growths and last week told now in my ribs , no more treatment.

I had similar diagnosis,  upper left lobectomy 8 weeks ago.

Post surgery, I could get a little breathless if I suddenly moved too fast. This happened a couple of times during the first week or two, so took extra care to slow myself down.

For a couple of weeks now, I have walked for up to 3 hrs, on flat ground, at a slightly slower than my pre-op pace.  Not breathless at all.

Also, meant to say surgery was RATs...

I couldn't complete my chemotherapy,  to toxic for me.

Hi Tingy, that's good to know, I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the same time so am gradually building up my walking, up to 2 miles now pre op but good to know you aren't breathless. Thanks for your reply and best wishes to you

I wish youwell too , mine was VATS also and a top right adenocarcinoma   hope all goes well. After I met the surgeon,  it was a 5 week wait , just waited on the phone call . Good luck to you 

Thanks for the time frame as well, at least I have an idea how long it will be to wait, just want to get it over with now
