Newly diagnosed , awaiting radio treatment , feeling very restless
Hi Motorhead, welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here.
It is very scary being told you have lung cancer, we all here can relate to that. I had radiotherapy for my lung cancer, I was an inpatient at the hospital when I had my treatment, because the tumour was blocking my airway and I was very poorly. I had 5 sessions, one a day for 5 days, and by the end of the 5 days the tumour had shrunk enough that I could breath normally and was discharged from hospital. The radiotherapy continues to build up in your body for several weeks after, so by the time I had my first scan the tumours had shrunk by 50%.
Several of us here have had radiotherapy, so if you have any question, please do ask.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
