Hi I’m new on here
my husband is awaiting confirmation of kidney lung and bone cancer. The wait is unbearable but we both know the outcome… mentally we r both struggling and being told that treatment is highly unlikely due to all his other health problems is as he says giving him a death sentence. I’m so overwhelmed with all the appointments and information and really struggling… please help
Hi @woowoo26, welcome to the group, but sorry to hear about your husband. The start of any cancer diagnoses is always scary, and there does seem to be endless tests, and waiting for results.
Has your husband been assigned a cancer nurse. If he hasn’t yet I’m sure he will be soon. The cancer nurse is your life line, any questions or concerns you can go straight to her.
Whilst you are supporting your husband, you will need support for yourself as well. There are forums here on the online community that you can join where you can chat to people who are in a similar situation to yourself.
You can also call the support line and chat to someone there. They are available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm on 0808 808 00 00.
If you have a Maggie’s centre near you, or a Macmillan centre, these are really great places where you can pop in, there is always help and advice there, or just someone to chat too. These centres are usually close to the hospital.
I hope you get a diagnoses soon, and hope there will be a treatment available.
