Hi I was diagnosed yesterday after a routine xray flagged up a growth in Lung. My question js how long did you have to wait from diagnosis to surgery?
Hi Mosel
I wasn’t very fast from diagnosis to op as they were hoo ing to do bio then not. Then a PET scan so from December 28th my lung function to March 7th lobectomy
Mine was small so they didn’t rush and gave me a choice of Watch and Wait, SABR,or lobectomy and segmentation
I chose to have VATS
Ann
Hi Mosel , mine was from 22nd Dec for my lobectomy op 21st April. Biopsy was middle of February but I delayed that by 2 weeks , as I was on holiday.
Hi Mosel I had an X-ray for minor chest issues (pretty sure I was being fobbed off), but as there was an anomaly I was sent for a CT scan, end of June. On 20th July my GP called me in to share the results, that it was highly likely cancer. I saw a lung consultant 7 days later, had a PET-CT 3 days after, then waited 2 and a half weeks for the results. I had surgery on 12th Sept, wedge resection that was identified as definitively cancer so they removed the lobe. I can’t believe it all happened so quickly - but I know that’s not everyone’s experience.
Take care
Vicky
