Reccurant lung cancer after op 4yrs ago to remove cancer and part of my lung , now recurrance on " stitch line " , it's small 1cm so have had 4 weeks of radiotherapy hopefully to get rid of it but I am feeling very low

  • Hello Sassay

I hope you don't mind me replying as I had a different type of cancer to you. I had surgery in April 22 and I am always worried about recurrence. It must have been devastating for it to recur on the stitch line after 4 years.

I hope that the radiotherapy went well and that you do not have many side effects from it.

It is very natural to feel low after having this happen. If you feel like chatting to someone about it may help, then please do consider giving the Support Line a call. They will understand and are lovely on there.

Hopefully the radiotherapy will have done the trick and you won't have to wait too much longer to find out.

    Jane

  • Thank you Jane for your kind words of support  , yes it was devastating as I naively thought once it was cut out that was it but apparently a cell may have escaped and started to grow , albeit very slowly just like the original cancer,  it also grew slowly , this will be the 3rd time cancer has invaded my body as I had breast cancer 10 yrs ago plus I have a polyp in my bowel that is pre cancerous but because of my health surgeon will not risk doing an op to remove it even should it turn cancerous he wouldn't risk operating , " "there's nothing that can be done " it's like having a ticking time bomb in my body  , I do have a very good friend for support but that's it family ( 1 son ) just says " you'll be fine " or " you've fought it before " I did go to a group but with my hearing issues I can't join in ,  I sit there and don't know what's being said so I stopped going
