That's great your moving forward it was keyhole with my 1st op but 2nd op they tried keyhole but ended up having to open only because of the 1st op after being glued up in hospital for few days longer than keyhole , you'll be fine and hopefully you might not need any therapies if no spread .Best of luck xx

Hi April, I had my right top lobe removed using Vats . I was warned it may go to open but was all done through keyhole .   Even though I had a pre -op they did all the same tests  again when I got admitted for my op .  
I spent my time during the 4 weeks cleaning the house , packed my bag etc .  Good luck and let us know how you get on 

Thank you. Yes I’ve decided to clean the flat from top to bottom, keeping busy is best for me. My consultant is going on holiday so he’s asking the other 2 consultants to slot me in so fingers crossed not too long. Hope your recovering well 

I was warned that they may need to go open during my lobectomy and that could even require removing ribs. The first question I asked in PACU was whether they'd been able to do it by VATS, which they had.  They also removed a bullae which hadn't been apparent on any imaging but which could have eventually caused a collapsed lung.

It sounds as if we are going through the thing. Mine is lower right lung,  my selected surgeon is also on holiday and asked if a colleague could step in. Other difference is it might be VATS, which me is super  cool. I think that you might be a week ahead of me.  

My wife can't understand how they are going to get a lobe out between my ribs, good luck we are both going to do great
