Hi am new here was told last week I have lung cancer, they do a biopsy next Tuesday and I'm terrified.  I cant seem to process it. I just wanted to say hello .

  • I've stopped smoking and I have copd or they said yrs ago I did. I use my inhaler when I walking alot more then I usually would.the incision is where my bra would be so that bothers me I cant figure out how to wear one. I guess I'm a whimp as I'm struggling with it all. I walk up and down stairs all day long at the minute and around in the back garden but havent really gone out yet anywheres as dont want to catch anything off anyone. I guess cause they said dont over do it I'm so busy trying not to over do it I'm under doing it. I'm scared all the time..just all the time. I'm at my daughter's not at home as I know the 18 yr old isnt cleaning like I would and I'd over do it trying to sort that then we argue all the time so I'm at my other daughter and her husbands. Theyve been great ..well I hope this works as I just need to get a grip before the chemo starts..

  • My days were pretty lazy days before hand unless I was working that day. I have alot of ainexity about being out around people anyways.. I'm finding this hard though its messing with my head alot.. I see u had ur op just in August and ur getting better. I just had mine beginning of sept. And at minute I want to crawl in a hole I cant seem to find a reason....

  • I’m not wearing a bra either but thankfully can wear a jumper now so don’t look as bad! I’m starting chemo on Thursday so been trying to get bit healthier ready

  • Yeah I have a big jumper on. I dont know when I start chemo they havent said yet but they do know I need it to make sure it stays away as it was so big when they found it. It was 43mm when they found it from nothing a year and a half ago when I had a chest xray. I'm walking up and down the stairs more that is helping it's raining here a bit and I just cant afford to get sick..take care

  • These are super comfy and reasonable enough to buy a larger size

At five pounds each at Asda can’t go wrong.

I just went up two sizes then I could pull them on and they weren’t tight where my scar was as they came down lower being bigger

  • Thank you will have to try these

  • Hi Ann. I always wear these style bra’s & they are very comfy. Did wear them on holiday after surgery but find I can only wear for few hours now as they rub under my boob where the pain is & if I go too big my boobs fall out lol Julie

  • Hi brandies, sorry to hear your so down, I fi nd my anxiety makes my breathing worse if I panic, this might sound crazy but when I get like that I sit down in the room and take deep breath example name  an object in the room another deep breath in and breathe out  a other item .etc

b4 I know it I'm not focusing on my breathing anymore , it sounds daft but it works. Crazy as it sounds .lol..dud hospital give you a spirometer as I used it after op to just try make lung stronger Rolling eyes don't know if you'll understand what I'm saying as sometimes I don't myself l.dont always know how to explain properly Rolling eyes

  • That exercise thingy they gave me to use to build my lungs up before surgery? The one u blow into 6 times then wait 60 secs..and so on. I have that I didnt know if I could still use that? But I'll try the other to.today it hasnt been so bad. I'm finding sleeping a bit of trouble to be honest..

  • Try not to lie flat make sure your pillows are raised, I was told the spirometer would still help after the op, all docs give different advice tho abd confuses me , x
