I’m new here and not sure what ask really .. I’m
My mum has a diagnosis of Small Cell lung cancer .. she had radiotherapy which kept things stable for 2 years but we have been told it’s back in the same place in her right lung and although MRI is clear and and no known metastasis other than a small spot on the rib ( doctor said this could be an old injury ) we’ve been told it’s now at an extensive stage - non curable. Everything I’ve read says to be extensive stage it should have spread - I don’t understand ..
I asked about prognosis for my mum and was told 12 months with chemo and immunotherapy , 10 months with just chemo .. my mum is 80 she doesn’t want any treatment..
I don’t what to think
has anyone any experience of this .. what should I be asking?
thank you it’s helped just writing this
x
Hi Downside
Im sorry that you are going through this with your mum. I haven’t got experience of the same but wanted to send you a hug
Im confused too about the diagnosis and hope that you can talk to one of the nurses who should explain why they have said no cure
It needs to be explained clearly and the options for treatment discussed
It does sound as though your mother has chosen no treatment
How do you feel about that?
I hope that you can get some answers
take care
Ann
