I’m new here and my younger brother has been diagnosed with NSCLC while investigating his breathlessness, he also has insasitual lung disease. They can’t remove the cancer due to the lung disease and lack of oxygen. He is having chemo and immunology but his breathing has got worse and now thinks the treatment is not working.. He is only on his 2nd round of chemo which he has 3 weeks apart. He is extremely down and I’m struggling to keep him upbeat. I have told him to talk to his nurse but he said he is scared to incase they tell him it’s not working or stop the treatment.
I know it’s early days still but want to keep strong for him.
I wasn’t sure if anyone here had been diagnosis with both like my brother and experienced the same shortness of breath

Loueylou welcome to the group, but sorry to hear about your brother. I haven’t had chemo or immunotherapy, but I have heard from people here who have said that their breathing does get worse at the beginning. But he must speak to his medical team about this. I am sure they will be able to put his mind at ease. X
I appreciate you reply thankyou, he has mentioned his breathlessness getting worse on his check up last week but just said it is quite normal but he sees this as it’s getting worse and is thinking the worst.
i am trying to get him to call his nurse but very reluctant to.
I am his strength and will get him through this every which was I can, just needed to speak to people experiencing this as helps me which then helps him
xx
