Good evening all,

I had open lung surgery on 16th March at Basildon Hospital, everything that could go wrong did, I was sent home after six days but within a few days of being home I could not breath, it materialised that I had blood clots in my non operated lung and a pulmonary embolism, and a bad infection in my operated lung. again I nearly lost my life. Fortunately I am here to tell the tale. I am still very unwell but feel at last to be making progress on this rather steep hill. Has anyone else experienced the same problems.

  • Hi  welcome to the group, but after what you have been through, I am very pleased to see you here! I am glad to see you are making improvements and hope you are feeling much better soon. Hopefully someone will be along soon to share their experience of lung surgery with you x

  • Hi NannyVal ,you have been through so much and it must of been rather scary ,I must admit I have not experienced anything like you have ,i did have a lobectomy last year ,by VAT with not many problems ,i hope you feel better soon

  • What were your symptoms? Was it just breathlessness? Were you injecting yourself with fragmin every day?
i have anxiety about blood clots even though I’m on thinners after a heart stent.

hope you are ok now and continuing to recover
