Good evening all,
I had open lung surgery on 16th March at Basildon Hospital, everything that could go wrong did, I was sent home after six days but within a few days of being home I could not breath, it materialised that I had blood clots in my non operated lung and a pulmonary embolism, and a bad infection in my operated lung. again I nearly lost my life. Fortunately I am here to tell the tale. I am still very unwell but feel at last to be making progress on this rather steep hill. Has anyone else experienced the same problems.
Hi NannyVal welcome to the group, but after what you have been through, I am very pleased to see you here! I am glad to see you are making improvements and hope you are feeling much better soon. Hopefully someone will be along soon to share their experience of lung surgery with you x
Hi NannyVal ,you have been through so much and it must of been rather scary ,I must admit I have not experienced anything like you have ,i did have a lobectomy last year ,by VAT with not many problems ,i hope you feel better soon
What were your symptoms? Was it just breathlessness? Were you injecting yourself with fragmin every day?
i have anxiety about blood clots even though I’m on thinners after a heart stent.
