Waiting for scan results is an extremely anxious time. We call this Scanxiety. As hard as you try you cannot help but worry s out the results, that is only natural. Try to keep busy whilst you wait, to take your mind off of it. I know this is easier said than done.
Thanks so much chelledimo for replying so pleased to be able to chat to people that understands . My big anxiety is if I need treatment as I have all over body nureopathy and worried in cause they refuse treatment fingers crossed for scan results today

Good luck with scan results today. Are you going in for the appointment? or is it a telephone appointment?
No I’m waiting for telephone call but they haven’t said when I will get it . I’m just hoping it’s today it’s driving me crazy . Why did we have to get this dreaded disease. Life is cruel .
hello Peggy ,I understand your anxiety.I had a lobectomy last July and this is now coming up to my follow up scan and i will also see my surgeon again ,i am starting to get nervous too ,but it is normal to feel this way ,and i know it does not help with you worrying but just to let you know you are not alone ,i am on a worry level of 100 % at the moment and i have not had my follow up scan yet ,i have all that to look forward too on the 28th ,
Hi Christie and Peggy,
I had my first follow up scan towards the end of November with the results in early December. It’s such an anxious time but such a relief after it’s over. I think it’s underestimated how much anxiety is involved in all the waiting for results. I’m fortunate in that my GP has known me over a number of years with general anxiety and is ok to prescribe fluoxetine if I need additives support as this particular drug really works for me, helping the anxiety to be more manageable. I’ve also used sleep hypnosis to help me keep some semblance of calm.
I hope all goes well for you both, love
Thankyou daisychain hopefully mine too will be ok .they did tell me everything was removed with a good margin and that the nodule was only 20 % cancerous .i hope my outcome is the same as yours
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
