Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2019 I received approx 22 sessions of immunotherapy finishing in December 2021. I started Chemotherapy in May and had 4 sessions. I’m now on maintainance chemo for as long as it suites me. I’m struggling with the whole thing at the moment. I’ve lost all sense of taste and texture when eating/drinking has anyone got any advice they can give please? Thanks
Hi there, sorry I am not able to offer any advice as I haven't started my chemo and so still at early stage of treatment. I hope you are able to get some support and advice through others on the community network. I just wanted to say how encouraging it is to read about you coming through treatment now being on a maintenance programme. I am sorry to hear about the struggles you are having though so I really do hope you get some support with this. Best wishes, Mads
Hi MsFord welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here.
I am sorry to hear you are struggling with food at the moment. I haven't had chemo myself so have no personal experience of this. However I will add a link to a fact sheet below which may help.
eating, appetite and loss of taste
I hope this improves for you x
Thank you Chelle. Think it’s going to be be tea and toast and jam for foreseeable future
Oh bless you. When my sister went through chemo for breast cancer, she couldn't drink tea, which was awful for her because she usually drinks tea all day long. She could drink coffee though. x
