Hi, new here. Nodule in left lung grown significantly since June 2021. Will be seeing consultant next week. Anyone guide me through the initial appointment please. Am nervous as I’m autistic, and have other health conditions.
thank you.
Hi fluff dragon. My initial consultation was with the respiratory consultant who discussed my Ct scan results and advised I would need further tests to confirm , stage and confirm if it was /type of tumour and see if anything was going on elsewhere in my body . I Also had some breathing tests done at that appointment too …. Welcome to the forum , sorry you find yourself here but everyone has been very helpful with me in here so I hope you find that too . Elly x
Hi Fluffdragon, welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. I would think it will be respiratory consultant you will be seeing. There are a lot of tests you have to go through before being passed to oncology. It is a very drawn-out process I am sorry to say.
Good luck next week, let us know how you get on x
Thank you. Absolutely terrified but nothing I can do to change things so need to learn to be a stoic!
Good morning Fluffdragon
initially there will be tests and scan so your team can gather the information they need to design your treatment plan. The bit that gets to you the most is waiting for 5he results. Try not to stress about it, I know this is easy said but using distraction tasks so you don’t think about it to much, and whatever you do don’t Google anything, this will cause you more stress and worry as it is often out of date and incorrect. If you need to chat we are here, I was supported through the initial stages of my diagnosis by some very brilliant lovely people on this forum and as we are all here for the same reason we all understand.
for now take care and I must say I love your name, Fluffdragon it made me smile, if you have time and you feel like it can you explain how you came up with the name.
Hugs for now
Donna
If you find the magic key to being stoic please let me know, Elly x
