Hey Rob sorry you’re finding yourself joining this forum but now you’re here why not tell us a little about why you’re posting , you can click on my name to get my details to date and I can tell you I have found this forum amazingly supportive if you need support or just want to ask a question Elly
Hi Donna
Thank you for your kind response and I’m really sorry to hear about your condition but you seem like a very positive person
I was diagnosed in 2021 with two tumours one in my lung and one in my lymph nodes.
The treatment regimen was initially a two year plan with chemotherapy and radiation every three weeks but that changed because of the location of the lymph node tumour, any radiation to that area would cause irreparable damage to my oesophagus and I would need a feeding pipe fitted.
The new plan was chemotherapy only until the tumour shrunk enough to start radiation I won’t list all my side effects there are to many to mention I’ve since had my radiation and my chemotherapy is on hold until I get over my side effects.
The main reason I’ve joined the site is to ask if anyone out there is going through my current side effect and to find out if there’s a home remedy, I’ve got severe lung pain at the moment caused by the radiotherapy scarring I’ve tried the mild and the strong painkillers but to no avail.
Rob
Hi Elly
Thank you for your kind response, on reading your profile you are about to start what I’ve already been through and I can assure you the radiotherapy is a short and painless procedure there is also a dedicated nurse to talk to at anytime and if you require any meds they are readily to hand

Hi Rob I’m a newbie too, I’ve been through one journey and have started the 2nd first time I had Stage 3 Tosil cancer in 2014. So I learnt a lot on my first journey I’ve recently had various tests Broncoscopy, Ct Guided, Mediastionoscopy, all negative they were worried cos my lymph nodes in centre of chest lit up and were enlarged. Anyway that’s all clear so now they say they want to do a Lobectomy which I am hoping to have in the coming weeks had another pet ct today and clinical nurse thinks my referral will be by end of the week. Any one know how long from their referral to surgery took not looking forward to it I must say. The other thing is I am a smoker have been most my life need to stop any ideas anyone please
Hi Rob.
I’ve not had and radiotherapy at the moment. I’ve had some side effects form my chemotherapy if you want to have a look at my profile there is some detail about it in there. I am sure others will come along and support you with the radiotherapy side effects, in the meantime if you just want a chat please feel free to message me.
regards
Donna
Hi I smoked for over 40 years and stopped by using an e- cig. I can’t even stand the smell of smoke now and I’ve not had a cigarette for 12 years.
