hi new to the group just found out my dad has stage 4 cancer started in the lung and now on the brain we found this out early july we found out last week its also in the stomach .
just wondering how long peoples treatment started once they found out.
also any tips people can give me im the one that will be going to his appointments with him and sometimes things can be over whelming

Hi rainbowcloud4, welcome to the group, but sorry to hear about your dad. This must of come as shock to you all.
Treatment usually starts very quickly once all of the tests are completed, it depends on whether they are planning on doing anymore tests or scans? Also it will depend on what treatment they decide on. The oncologist will hold a MDT meeting once all the test results are back. This is a meeting they hold to discuss each individual person with other health professionals. You are then usually told the treatment plan soon after this meeting.
As you will be caring for your Dad, you may also want to look at the Carers only forum here in the online community. Here you will meet other members who are supporting loved ones through this difficult time. Xx
