Stage 3a, I think the consultant said on the phone. Spread to some Lymphs, Confirmed by Histology after LUL surgical removal on 8th June in Bristol. Awaiting Oncologist appt and confirmation of Molecular findings.
Hello Chas, I hope you're recovering well from surgery? I had local spread to lymph nodes which was also discovered by histology after surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy to reduce the chance of recurrence was recommended which I had, fortunately I've had no more problems to date.
Hope it goes well for you.
Hi Exc,
Good of you to reply. So pleased that your treatment has been successful.
I am waiting molecular of course to determine the precise sort of chemo.
I am a bit concerned my aches in opposite shoulder and collar bone may be linked. But surgical consultant reckons too early for any spread of tumour removed with lobectomy from RUL on 8th June. So it will be good to discuss this with an Oncologist.
I have recovered well from the VAT surgery thanks. I would recommend plenty of exercise and nutrition before going in if you can. Build up core and major muscle groups in particular I reckon.
Good luck to all
I think your recommendation on what to do before the operation is spot on, as is the right level of exercises for recovery. I'm no medical expert but your consultant sounds right that it's too early for spread - could be an after effect from surgery, I had all kinds of aches and pains and still get some occasionally after 8 years.
All the best.
