Hi there,
It’s certainly difficult to take it all in, especially the speed of diagnosis. Has anyone gone through the procedures with you yet and explained what is going on? I had my last scan and needle biopsy at the same time after one of the thoracic consultants had explained it all to me. The clinical group will have a meeting once all the results are in and decide on the treatment. For me it’s a lobectomy and I’m now waiting for the procedure which I’m hoping will be soon. The waiting is not so easy for me. I may need chemo to mop up any stray cancer cells but they won’t know until after the procedure.
Have you had an initial diagnosis yet? The full diagnosis will come after the results are known when they will discuss a treatment plan with you.
The MacMillan nurses here are very good to talk to especially if you need any support. Please give them a call so you can talk it all through with them. There’s lots of support on here and I’ve found it very helpful.
It’s a challenging journey and it’s so good to share it with others.
With love xx
Thank you.. pet scan now done so just waiting for the team to see me.. hopefully it will not be too long
I think I was called in quite quickly after the scan. Probably about a week. Depending on what was found the medical team will decide what treatment (if any) is needed. Hopefully you will hear something sooner rather than later.
It’s impossible to say but I hope you have the results really soon. The waiting is not easy xx
Hello.... The waiting is awful isn't it? My husband scan results were 7 days.... Then we had to wait for all the specialists to work out a plan..... We are actually waiting for contrast CT scan atm..... Good luck... Try to be strong(not easy)..... And let us all know how you get on.
Thank you. I hope the results you’re waiting for don’t take too long
