Hi.. My name is janette..... My husband was diagnosed without symptoms early this year with stage 4 non small cell lung cancer at stage 4. He is having palliative care...... After having triple therapy  x4 his main tumour has shrunk significantly... And the others have almost disappeared..... He is going to continue with immunotherapy.... And now a new drug trial....... We finally have hope.....

  • Hi my name is Christine and same thing happened to me diagnosed in December last year stage 4 with spread . I too am currently on a targeted therapy trial and first scan eight weeks later after starting the treatment in March has revealed a partial response in all areas. There was a but though in that I have developed a complication with fluid around my heart so now being investigated for a pericardial effusion. I hope all continues to go well for you

  • Thank you. All the very best wishes.

  • Hi Janette, glad to hear your good news. Would you mind telling me what the trial is called please? My husband has just had his 4th triple therapy with a very good response. Next steps are one chemo and immunotherapy for 2 cycles and then more scans. He's asleep at the moment... this 4th cycle has really taken it out of him.

    Take care x

  • We are going tomorrow... And I will photo the long name.. Mmm

  • Hi Christine, just to let you know that my husband had fluid around his heart too and had a pericardial effusion with a window which allows any more fluid to drain. Following the op, he was home 2 days later and the pain was not too bad at all after the initial coming round. Also he felt much better and his pain went away and breathing improved. Hope that eases your mind a bit.
