Obviously still reeling a bit, but I guess I thought it might be just an infection.

  • Hi Clung, welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. I remember that feeling well, clinging to the hope it was a chest infection.

The beginning of this rollercoaster journey you have just got on, is so scary. It will take you time to acknowledge what is happening. I remember feeling that it wasn’t real, and that it wasn’t happening to me.

Things will settle down. You have to go through all the tests, to finally get to your treatment plan, but once you get there, you will start to feel better, less fearful.

Come here to chat whenever you want, there is usually someone around. We all know how you are feeling right now xx

  • Thanks Chelle… I guess I will get the hang of it soon.

  • It's a horrible time... But you will get support here.....

  • Thanks, I think I’m going to need it!  My big problem is that I’m obese…. So an anaesthetic risk. And, because my nodule is practically kissing the aorta, other methods of biopsy/excision are out… which just leaves a dodgy surgery. I asked if I could just have radiotherapy, but that’s  not fine -  also out… as for chemotherapy… not until they know for sure that it’s cancerous! So they have put it before the MDT…,so that’s another week without sleep! Argh!

  • I’m very relieved to say the operation was done 8th August…upper left trisegmentectomy and apparently they got it all… turned out to be a NETS tumour…. Previously known as a carcinoid tumour…. However… having left hospital 10 days later, spent a week or so at home… ended with blues and twos and readdmitted to hospital, with pneumonia, hb70 and a week of dreadful diarrhoea! Upshot is 3 different consultations over the next few months to get to the bottom of it. I’m now at home…recovering!
