Hello. I’m new here. My mum was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in November 2020, she fought as much as she could but unfortunately she passed away in July 2021. I am still struggling to come to terms with the fact she’s not here anymore. It hurts so much. And then in February this year my dad told us he had been diagnosed with bowel cancer I can’t cope.
Hi Piggy90, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mum, I also lost my mum to cancer so I know how that feels. There is a Bereaved family and friends forum here that you may want to join, where you can share your feelings and talk to other people in a similar situation to yourself.
It must of come as a big shock to find out that your Dad now has cancer as well. I have not had any experience with this type of cancer myself, but you may want to join the Bowel (colon and rectal) cancer forum which I know is a very supportive group.
I am so sorry to hear that you are not coping with everything that has happened. Please do call the Macmillan support line on 0808 808 00 00. They are available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm. It is a free call number and completely confidential. I think it will really help you to speak to someone there.
Take care x
