Hello. I’m nervous to write. My husband has just been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. We are so scared of what is going to happen next.

  • Hi Bluey52 welcome to the group, but sorry to hear about your husband. It is so scary when a loved one receives a cancer diagnoses.

There are so many tests and scans that need to be done before any treatment plan can be looked at, and this always seems like a lengthy process.

You need to look after yourself whilst you are your caring for your husband. There are support groups here in the online community you can join, Carers only forum Is a very supportive group you can join where you can talk to other people in a similar situation to yourself. You can also call the Macmillan support line on 0808 808 00 00. They are available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm.

There are lots of people here in the lung group who will be able to share their story with you as well.  You can read a little about us on our profile page by clicking on our profile name or picture. There is so much treatment available for lung cancer now, don’t give up hope xx
