Diagnosis 8 days ago
Hi sueb64 welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. It’s terrifying receiving a cancer diagnoses. Have you been given your treatment plan yet?
Hello Sueb64
I had a two stage diagnosis, at least that’s how I looked at it. After PET CT scan there was a needle biopsy. From first scan to treatment plan it’s taken about 6 weeks. I finally have a plan. It’s all such a shock. I’m sorry you’re in this place but welcome. There are lots of people here for encouragement, support and chat.
sending love x
Hi Sue,
I know how you are feeling. It took forever for me to find out what the plan was and then another 3 weeks for my treatment to start. They found the mass in my left lung on November 15th 2021 and my treatment started on March 3rd of this year.
I had radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks and chemo 1 day a week for 7 weeks. My last treatment was two days ago. I must say that once the treatments started they went by quickly.
Hanging here. Keep a positive mental attitude and rely on your family and friends for support.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers,
Lefty
Sorry you are in this group.... But welcome... My husband was diagnosed after A&E appt.... It was such a shock..... Saw oncologist 11feb... And started treatment 2 days later. Triple therapy. Tomorrow is his final....... The waiting is harsh... And again I find waiting for contrast CT scan results and oncology on 29th...but hopeful..... Wishing you love luck and prayers.
Hi... My husband (he does read this too!) has not moaned... But we now realise its best not to have any plans for first 12 days.. Aching /painful shins.. Sore mouth... And complete tiredness... Nausea kept under control.... Our macmillan nurse really didn't want us traveling far because of all the serious contradictions of such strong treatment..... He lost his hair after 2nd treatment..... Its all been a whirlwind..... Tomorrow is his last date for triple therapy..... He has been booked in for more immunotherapy next month....... He is fast asleep.... Where as I at 1 15 am wide awake...... Good luck
