Hi, have literally just joined and not really sure what type of things are posted. We are still waiting for a prognosis but have been told that I have a large mass on my lung and on my vertebrae. They believe that the mass on the vertebrae is second degree cancer to the lung. We are still waiting for official results from biopsy which they have performed on a third mass on my shoulder blade area. They have also said that there may be tumours behind my eyes which are causing blurred vision.
No treatment has started yet as obviously, no diagnosis has been made. We are both very frightened and anxious. Any helpful thoughts or guidance would be appreciated!! Thank you
Hi Jon
I am sorry you have had to join this group.but you are very welcome
the waiting for a lot of us is the worst part, once they have all results in, they can decide what treatment plan is best for you.
We all get a plan and for me i felt a bit more relaxed in knowing what way forward i am going.
.Treatment has come a long long way, chemo, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and target therapy, all depends on what type you may have, and whether its nsclc or sclc.
Please use this group, a lot of lovely people and some one can always answer any question,
Please do not google unless its Roy castle or Macmillan, a lot on the web is out of date.
Hope others pop in and give you some more advise.
Take Care Ellie x
Thank you Ellie. Yes slightly more reassuring and yes I agree with the comment about google. I did (stupidly) google some stuff a couple of weeks ago and it did not help at all, just scared me even more. Just came back from biopsy and was told the my MRI for my head scan showed nothing untoward on my brain. So some good news I guess!! Thanks again for your response!!
John
Yes good news, regarding head scan, waiting for the biopsy results, you will soon be there at least it is done.
There are a lot of us here that are passed our sell by date, me included, they really do not know.
We all think the worst only natural we are human after all.
Please let us know how it goes, and when you know what you are going to be given as regarding the plan, you will have a lot more questions, and some one will have the answers for you.
