Hi,im new here i was diagnosed with nsclc end of September ive had a full lobectomy still struggling with pain and numbness its been 4 months since surgery still cant bear bathing and drying as its like raw skin to touch,is anyone else going through this who may be able to help
Hello Pat, that's a long time for problems to persist. Have you discussed it with your consultant or GP and if so have they offered any suggestions to help? It sounds like it could be nerve damage related from surgery but you need an expert medical opinion.
I had a lung removed in 2014 by open surgery and it didn't take as long to recover from initial pain and for numb feelings to subside, but after all this time I do still have episodes of minor discomfort and numbness near the operation site which have been explained previously as nerve damage from surgery.
Hi there,my mcmillan is dealing with meds making sure i get everything to help ,she and my consultant both said that it can take anything from 6 months to a year to heal ,i hope not, tend yo agree with them and what you said regarding nerve damage ,i really didnt expect to be feeling like this 4 months on ,but im so grateful and i shouldnt complain as so many of you are are facing tougher battles than me ,sending lots of hope, strength and love,
