Hi, have been told I have lung cancer and I seen the ct scan and had a biopsy, referred to Oncologist on 23 December still waiting for appointment. I have no

idea of when of what treatment I will having. Any one is same position. I have been given a Salamol inhaler which really helps with the cough,

  • Hello jhw52 I was diagnosed with lung cancer around the same time as you. The wait for appointments is the hardest part. I have just got my treatment plan in place and will be starting chemotherapy and immunotherapy next week if all goes well, i have to have covid test and blood tests Wednesday and if all goes well I will commence chemotherapy and immunotherapy on Friday. Your treatment will depend on what stage or cancer is at. Every plan is different. I know it’s hard to wait but if you need an ear in the meantime you can always message me. Good luck and stay strong

Hi jhw52, like you my diagnosis was in December after a mad month of tests, biopsies, scans, lung function and getting my COPD in control, I await the next step. Im expecting a meeting with an oncologist this week. Ive used this time to get my energy back and finalise some things that are inportant to me like writing letters to the kids to be given if I go..... and capturing many photographs of my self with the grandkids ( being a photographer Im always on the wrong side of the cameras). Everyone is different and their needs at this time will be different. Some you can achieve easily, others take more persistance..... but remember, your in charge no matter the outcomes....There are many people out there who will be supportive so add me to your list if you ever need an ear and remain "ever positive"...
