Hi All
I got my diagnosis last Wednesday and have my first oncologist appointment this Friday but I was with family last Saturday and unfortunately 4 of them have since tested positive for covid. I’m doing daily lateral flow tests and so far all have been negative- would the hospital change my appointment to video link if I tell them what the circumstances are?

Hi Nellybear, believe you will have to ask them, thats if you know who to get in touch with, as you will not as yet been given, telephone numbers for the lung nurse's, you will get those when you see your oncologist.
My procedure before seeing the Onecologist for the first time was a nurse weighs you and then a nurse does a breath evaluation of your lungs, then the oncologist tells you particulars of the tumour or what ever you have, then you are booked in for a PET scan, to see how active the cancer is, though it can be benign in some cases, The PET scan tells them how far if any the cancer has spread, to lymph nodes, or metastasis
Usually on your appointment Letter for the last nearly two years it has said who to ring if you have Covid symptoms
If you have not got the telephone numbers of the Lung nurses ring the Hospital were your appointment is to be held, if no joy there, you must get back in touch with your GP.
I am assuming you have had a CT scan after initially having a chest Xray, and your GP has informed you of your presumed diagnosis.
All the Best
