My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in early Nov. Weve had a number of scans/tests etc. The Dr said he was happy to delay her chemo until the new year if she does not diteriate. Since then she had picked up a chest infection/pneumonia. She's been admitted twice to hospital for low oxygen levels, shortness of breathe and now this infection. She is on iv antibiotics. The Dr said pockets of her lung have filled with fluid, as far as I'm aware he wants them drained but we don't know anymore details atm as we're not allowed to visit mum and we call the ward and rarely get through to anyone. Has anyone experienced similar?
Thanks so much taking the time to read.
I was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer shortly before the first lockdown in 2020 having gone through a chest infection and pneumonia. I was given IV antibiotics and they drained my right lung - they then proceeded to give me a ct scan and X-rays to monitor the stage. I now just have one primary tumour and am on immunotherapy drugs. She will be ok xx
