Hi everyone, I have just joined after receiving some bad news. My brother in law was diagnosed with lesions on the lung and liver. However they were discussed as lesions but yesterday got a call to say that they are probably cancer and look as though they are secondary cancers. I want to be able to support my sister and brother in law but am speechless until further info is forthcoming. I understand they have to try to find a primary cancer, but not sure how they will start that. thanks for letting me join for any advice.
Hi juju7, welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. I am not sure what tests your brother in law has already had, but there are a lot of tests that re needed before they can give a full diagnoses. If he has not had a PET scan yet, this may be the one that is needed to see where the primary cancer is.
Unfortunately all of these tests take time, and it can feel like you are in limbo whilst waiting for the results. Hopefully you all get some news soon and your brother in law can start his treatment.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
