Hi everyone,

Just checking in here because my much beloved father-in-law has been diagnosed with lung cancer and we are just waiting for his consultant chat today to get more info. I’m feeling very worried about it all as we only lost my mother-in-law to cancer a year ago and am anxious that he won’t make it. He is 83 and they suspect it may also be in his liver.

So I am hoping this community can give me a sense of support and understanding of how best to assist him on this journey, whatever it ends up being!

thanks for listening and wishing you all a good day

  • Hi beatriceh welcome to the group, but sorry to hear about your Father in law. It is terrifying when a family member receives a cancer diagnoses.

If you haven't done so already, you may also want to join the carers support groups here in the community.

You will find several people there who are going through a similar situation to yourself.  You can also call the Macmillan support helpline for support 7 days a week from 8am til 8pm on 0808 808 00 00
